Review - Karoo Foot Powder

Everyone, I know we all know that awkward moment when you are about removing your socks/ shoes after a long day – wondering if the foot odor will be less or more. Up until last month, I have been managing the mild version of this annoying issue which springs up from time to time, for a few years. Though foot odor isn’t really an issue in summer because I wear sandals then. However at some point, I just stopped bothering about it and just keep my shoes on during the day at all times – no shoe removal, no odor!
I spent money on antifungals, vitamins and antiseptic to improve my hygiene especially that of my feet to the maximum. I did notice a small improvement. People even tell me that it is not an issue because everyone deals with it.
Luckily, I discovered Karroo Foot Powder just a month ago which has helped massively with the issue – if only I had found this product earlier.
The list price for this product (100g) is only R15.95 at Dischem, which is way more a beauty haul compared to the price I got it earlier at Clicks R18.95.
The product features a simple way to reduce foot odor entirely but as an added benefit, it refreshes your feet all day too with regular use.

Target group

The product is made for people that sweat and do not like not even a bit of funky smell from their feet, no matter the cause of the funkiness, whether it is bacteria producing isovaleric acid from your sweat, a skin infection caused by a fungus, poor hygiene or tight and low-quality shoes

Pros

The best for me about this product is that it is effective and easy to use. At the same time, it is cheap but I guess it proved a point that not only high-end products are effective. I learned the product can be used to improve dry and scaly skin – I guess people love repurposing products

Cons

The main ingredient includes talc and zinc oxide which has loads of controversies revolving around it. However, talc seems to cause side effects when inhaled but I don’t think that risk is high while using a foot powder. The powder has a tendency of sticking to my toenails – not a pleasant sight.

Similar products and Resources

However, this product might not work for everyone especially in cases where the foot odor is super strong. Then you need to seek medical help +/- the usage of this product. My upcoming blog post on foot odors and its causes will inform you more on the issue. Other products that you can try are Avon odor neutralizing spray, Epsom salt, antiperspirant, Good Stuff foot cream.

My Final Opinion

After trying various methods and products to fix the issue, finding this product much earlier could have made me avoid time, money and effort spent hopping from one treatment to another – sigh! If you have a minor version of foot odor, this product is definitely worth trying so long you aren’t allergic to any of its ingredient. I will re-buy without doubt as soon as I run out.
